Making Up For Lost Time? Or Not??

Oh dear! I'd forgotten what I was wearing this early evening when I'd asked my neighbor to take a photo! ha!! Oh well, I'm celebrating because I achieved a goal today of raking, shredding and hauling to the ravine in the "way back," the rest of the leaves I'd wanted to finish today.

So far, the front yard is finished (except for an out-of-the-way pile I can get later), the south side of the house is nearly finished, the Woodland Walk is finished, the backyard beds and the yard in-between is finished, and now the bed next to my neighbor's shed is finished!! Hurrah!

Oh yes, there's still quite a bit more to do... but it will wait until next week when we return from visiting our daughter, terrific son-in-law, and our two wonderful grandchildren! ;-)

If I didn't have this shredder, I couldn't live here.
ta-dah!

ABC Wednesday - J-ust In Case You Wondered...

I'm a week behind with my "J" post.

Just in case you've wondered.
Just in case you've cared...

While my computer was visiting his doctor,
I spent my time raking flower beds!

The first step was to rake most of the leaves off the beds last week ...

... leaving piles of leaves all around the bed edges.
I've finished raking, shredding and hauling about 1/2 the leaves so far.
I'll share the progress later)

Just in case you've wondered.
Just in case you have time to spare,

You can tell the progress I'm making

But you're invited to help, should you dare...

:-)

Just in case you're curious,
Just in case you've wondered,

These are some early Springtime sights

You'll see in "Shady's Gardens!"

Photos taken today and yesterday.

(Much to my chagrin, this blossom had been pinched from its stem and was lying on the ground today... squirrel?)

Enforced Vacation

Our local school system is celebrating
Spring Break!

Come to think of it, it seems as though I am as well. ha!

Just for the moment, I've temporarily been given the liberty to do everything else I should do instead of being on the internet. ;-)

My computer is participating in an exam at "Doctor's Office." It encountered some threatening messages Friday, and I just want everything to be okay.

(I just thought you might like to know why it's been so quiet over here lately.)

As an aside: We did have snow over the weekend. We didn't recieve as much as had been predicted, but it amounted to 1 1/2" or so. Beautifully white, but very temporary as the temperatures have now returned to 50 degrees F today! The snow is gone and I re-raked the flower beds today. Can you say BLISTERS? ha.

The leaves are standing in humongous piles and will be shredded and moved to the ravine before long (hopefully this week)! Would you be interested in participating in a great stretch, bend and haul excercise endeavor?? ;-)

(I'm on a computer at our local library!) Not much shadi-ness here!
Have a great day!!

This is a Post for My Blogging Grandson!

This is a poem by Charles Ghigna
from the book entitled
Animal Trunk, Silly Poems to Read Aloud

Chickens

Chickens peck.
Chickens peep.
Chickens cluck
In their sleep.

Chickens roost.
Chickens lay
Chicken eggs
Everyday.

Chickens live
In a coop.
Chickens hate
Chicken soup.

Love you! :-)
