A Peek at the Sunny Corner Bed Today

My Sunniest Spot has some of the more traditional

Bright Spot flowers!

This is what's blooming today:

 Notice the Sea Holly in the foreground.  I like this, but I think I'll need to deadhead the blossoms before the seeds form.  There are quite a number of seedlings growing from last year!

Deterring Future Intruders?

 I looked at them both and asked, "Would you?"

She smiled at her friend saying, "Let's do!"

So, they posted their sentry,

allowing no entry,

Meaning, "Hey deer! You're finally through!"

Near a Shady Bed in the backyard,

I asked, "Do you think this'll be hard?"

"No way," echoed they,

"We've decided to stay!"

Thought I... "Please let no deer in my yard!"

"Follow me now, I'll show you evidence,

And no, I admit to not having a fence."

So, after taking a glance,

They took up their stance.

And already I'm feeling less tense!

Yes, indeed.  I think this is my first Summertime visit by a deer.  You might note there's been a "nice" clearing provided by a neighbor...(hopefully not attractive to other visitors) so I'm hoping these two provide a little diversion!!!

Pretty In Pink!

  This is "Year Three" for this daylily called "Pretty In Pink!"

I HAD to share these photos, as "Pretty In Pink" has outdone itself this year!

 
A vigorous daylily with high bud count, Pretty In Pink has lovely pink 5" blossoms from early to mid-summer. The plant's height is 27 inches or so.  It seems to be somewhat drought tolerant, but everything need moisture!  The flowers are also considered to be fragrant and attract butterflies.

Hemerocallis are perennial plants that thrive in sun to part-shade conditions, and are generally grown in Zones 3 through 9.  I must tell you that although they receive bright light and some direct sunlight, most of my daylilies receive more than their share of shade... and do considerably well!
