Today is the most beautiful of beautiful of beautiful snows! It's just falling straight down in huge flakes. Interspersed with two photos of the same, almost-a-blossom on my friends' "Christmas Cactus," you'll find a couple of photos of the snowfall from the front window. Have a wonderful day.
Quite the study in contrasts, wouldn't you say? :-)
That is a beautiful snowfall. And my "Christmas cactus" is also giving me a few new blooms. Not as many as in December, but I'll take anything right now.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
Carol, May Dreams Gardens
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day "stuck" at home.
ReplyDeleteDid you mention how your bread turned out??
Hi Carol, Sometime's it's just hard to find blossoms, isn't it? But, you're right. I'll take "anything" right now! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheryl, Oh. The poor bread. I must probably post a postscript as to what happened. I must confess to substituting 1 cup of whole wheat flour for the plain. Perhaps that made the second rise not perform as well. (The bread was less than perfect!) Will try again.
it is so pretty but thank goodness we're not getting any of that where i live!! phew.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely a big contrast - the Cactus blooms will be a treat.
ReplyDeleteShady - Enjoyed your recent postings - made it a point to get caught up. Love the winter/blossom contrast. Read your quilting post (and poem) to my mom, who also quilts... I'll have to print out that pattern for her.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: I read about bread making day, just saw the bowl of dough... is there a photo (as promised) of the finished product? It may be that I'm just bread-obsessed, as I strive to become gluten-free, in an attempt to "cure" myself of multiple, chronic maladies.
Thanks for the newsletter mention - Enjoy! ......... Deb
Lisa, I visited your Butterfly Blog. I'll be visiting often, as I'm mesmerized by butterflies! :-)
ReplyDeleteKate, Thanks for visiting. :-)
GA, I'm so glad you've visited again. You'd think I'd know, by now, not to make a promise I can't keep. I must admit I substituted 1 cup of whole wheat flour. The second rising didn't go very well. The taste was good, but the texture wasn't light. I'm going to try again today! ;-) IF it works out, I'll post a photo.
Your Christmas Cactus is sticking its tongue at the snow - "I'm safe and warm" it seemed to say :-) Happy belated GTS!
ReplyDeleteSorry, at this point, no snowfall looks beautiful anymore. The kids are off again today with another Snow Day.:^( Can you say "Cabin Fever"?
ReplyDeleteNikkipolani, I think you're right. :-)
ReplyDeleteMMD, I understand completely. I've cabin fever myself... indoors for the past two days and my husband called to tell me the roads are very slick (yuck!). I made some "bird feeders" for my little neighbor. Tongue depressors with drilled holes on one end, threaded with twine. She will spread thinned peanut butter and dip in bird seed to hang outdoors. :-) Could this be a project for your clan? But, the snow is still beautiful... just a bit unwelcome.
