Green Thumb Sunday

Something Old...

Virginia Bluebells... growing in a woodland garden.

Something New...
Lady Sheila Ann Germaney Iris - new last Fall.
They're growing in the front yard, around my sister's tree.

Something Borrowed?
(Well, not really - these are new, too!)
Sweet little crocus;-)

Something Blue.

(Siberian Squill)

I want you to see these little gems! Grape Hyacinths that I planted late last Fall. The first photo is a little dark. The last is taken from above. :-)

A happy spring day!

  2. Shady Gardener,

I absolutely love the photo on your header! (And all your other photos too.) Haven't had much time to get around and see everyone else's blogs lately - obviously it's time I caught up.

I have some crocus just about ready to pop and a few grape hyacinths too.

  3. Good morning shady,

I see that while I was out of the garden that spring has completely arrived in yours. Don't you just love Virginia bluebells? I had some and then we plopped a very big boulder right on top of them, it was fall, they were hiding, ...I had the gardener's hope that they would find a way to the sun but that is not to be!

    Have a wonderful day,
    Gail

  5. EJ, Isn't it fun to have Spring arriving? I think of you so often - fondly! I so enjoy the cards you sent me... and so do others, because I'm sharing them with special people for special reasons. :-)

Cathy, You are so complimentary. 3 cheers for early Spring flowers! :-)

Gail, can I send you a couple? (or perhaps seeds?)

    Tina, Thanks for stopping.

  6. Just an additional comment: Those little grape hyacinths are two different varieties! The top one is bi-colored. I didn't order them that way, but that's what I got. Pretty cute, though! :-)

Great little muscari, as well. Thanks for the taste of spring. Deb

  8. What a great bunch of blue.

I just planted my first Virginia bluebells last fall. Yours are lovely. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'll see some in my yard soon, too.

  9. Deb, (Oh, I wonder if I should admit this! I ordered a few more muscari for this Fall, already!). :-)

J, You will love your Virginia bluebells! I can hardly wait until mine grow and bloom! (I almost wrote bluem!) ha.
