Green Thumb Sunday

Green Thumb Sunday

Rhododendron Buds!

Virginia Bluebells
Virginia Bluebells close-up!!

"Carlton"

"Ice Follies"
This has turned into a gorgeous, blue-sky, "balmy" day! I finished the wall and hauled the rocks to other beds.
Tah-dah! Here's the complete view,
with Barbie's tree in the foreground.

This little daffodil is one of 15 Carlton Daffodils I planted last Fall.
The continuing saga of the lone hyacinth.

The Bleeding Heart is growing!

As is the Pasque Flower.

Here's a new little fellow that 's shown up over the past few days!Last, but not least. This is called "getting up close and personal"
when you're about the business of digging and planting rocks in the ground!

Not Shady. Just slightly "buggy." :-)

  1. It's strange, but some of your plants are ahead of mine (Mertensia, Forsythia), while some of mine are ahead of yours (Ice Follies, Pasque flower). I guess that means we're about the same. Good work on that little retaining wall!

  3. Beautiful retaining wall, I know you feel good about it! I would! Love the pasque flower, you don't see it at the garden centers around here, even the nurseries...I wonder if it likes less humidity?

  4. MMD, Variability probably has a lot to do with placement of the plants! Re: the wall, thanks! Not quite done, however. When I get more of those "chunks," I'm going to sink one layer to just slightly above ground level in front of this bed (about 24") for a variety of items. I'll have a rounded area on the left side for my soon-to-be-purchased butterfly bush! :-)

Dellits! Yea! I'll look forward to your photos. Pretty exciting, isn't it?

Gail, Isn't it always fun to be creating and changing and "fixing?" lol. Pasque flowers are actually native plants that have become fairly rare. I found them in a specialty catalog this Winter. Perhaps I'll order a couple of different ones for next year. They bloom Very Early... watch for photos. It isn't a wetland plant!
