Green Thumb Sunday

I really did post about this Tricyrtis earlier. The label just said Tricyrtis hirta.
Cute little squirta, don't you think? ;-)
(Sorry. ha. The photo's just a little blurry. The light was nearly gone and I tried and tried to "hold still" in the wind!)
It still has one bud, but it won't make it, as we're do for a good, solid freeze tonight.

This is my most distinctively different Tricyrtis, so far.
"Seiryu."
Like I said, the wind was active and the light was low.
(It also has a bud here and there.)
I took a lot of photos to get this nice clear one!
A close-up of Tricyrtis "Seiryu."

Have a great night!

  2. Is there a Brown Thumb Sunday? I'd have a lot of photos I could post for that one.

  3. Goodbye lovely blooms, you are beautiful...see you next fall!

Does this mean cold weather is there to stay in your garden?

  4. Lisa, It really is time to say "goodbye," isn't it? I'm about ready for a change of pace. :-) Tho' some of my outdoor projects have just been postponed until next year. ha.

flydragon, Brownthumb Sunday? You could start it and I'd be sure we'd all have contributions! :-)

Gail, Well... I'm hoping for just a few more nice days yet... so I can finish (start?) raking! :-)

  5. oh no, a hard freeze?? I hate when that happens! We had one too last week. It sure looked sad in the garden the next day. I know what you mean by trying to photograph plants when the wind is blowing. I was trying to do that exact thing the other day and finally gave up. Your toad lily is pretty ~ glad he at least got to bloom before the frost took him.

  6. Lovely toadies... especially "squirta!" Sorry it's farewell for the season. We haven't had a killing frost, yet - very spotty, so far - only the most tender plants have succumbed. We actually had a gorgeous 65ยบ today, but the cool air is rolling back in this afternoon. Nice post... Deb

  7. Kathleen, I picked the remaining toad lily blossoms tonight and made a little bouquet. I hope the little buds develop. :-)

Deb, Glad you could make it over!! I'm sure it'll warm up enough in a couple of days to do a little more raking and/or "picking up." :-)

  9. IGW, We did, too. I'm hoping over the next few days to do a bit more "cleaning up." Otherwise, I'm ready to do a few other things, too. :-)
