NovemberGarden Blogger's Bloom Day

November 15, 2008!
(How did we arrive at this date, already?)

The little violet featured earlier is now in bloom. :-)

Enjoy this "GBBD" as hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.
Have a nice day! :-)

  1. Oh yeah, the dependable African Violet, I have three that were given to me and they are beautiful as yours is. I have rooted two leaves and if I don't get them in some dirt soon they will probably die. Never rooted them before.

  2. What a pretty little violet. I just love them and I can't seem to grow them.

  3. I have trouble with them too. Maybe I should give them a try again. I love the look of the petals when the light hits them.

  4. Shady,

An excellent question! I can't believe the shops are filled with Christmas decorations either!

Your violet is sweet and Coal would love to munch on it and then deposit the partially digested violet on a nice rug or piece of furniture! That is why we haven't any house plants and why this might be our last bloom day post till spring.

  6. darla, Thanks for visiting today. I believe my Mom is the champion of "violet growers!" ;-) She has a multitude and they're Always in bloom. She also starts new ones by placing a leaf in the soil and keeping it damp. (I don't know if it would work for me.) ha.

Lisa, This one violet has worked for about four years, now. I tried another last year, but it eventually died...

MMD, I have no secrets. This is a pretty single petaled violet... and the light was pretty as seen through the petals. :-)

Gail, Yep. Whatever has happened to Thanksgiving?? Perhaps you'll need one of those little glass-walled houses for a houseplant! ;-)

Rosemary, It doesn't take much to make us happy, does it? :-)

Kathleen, That's true! You do like pink. And I can just imagine the photos You would take of my violet!!

  7. So pretty! None of my AVs are blooming right now. In fact, some are struggling, probably due to my overwatering, underwatering, something-or-othering...

  8. Kylee, This little African violet has survived my care for 3 whole years, now! ;-) And I look to you as "Queen of the Indoor Plants!" ha.
