A Pause for a Perusal of Plenty (My Sunny Bed)

"How Peculiar," did you say?
"There seems to be a preponderance of P's!"

In explanation, while entering our driveway last Thursday,
after having been away for 8 days,
it was the Front Yard Sunny Garden Bed
that took my breath...
with a
Plethera of Pretty Daffodils! :-)
In the photo above, you'll see a couple of daylilies in the foreground,
Pink Chablis sedum to the right,
Matrona sedum in the background under the grow ring.

Below, you'll also spot some iris on the left with
another daylily in the back,
allium in the center, etc.

I had to sneak in a photo of my rhubarb.
It looks much happier out here!

And you'll be happy to know that all the leaves were cleared
this weekend.
It's raining gently this morning.

It's a wonderful time of year!!

Stanza four from
The Daffodils
by William Wordsworth

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They (the sight of the many lovely daffodils) flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Have a great day!

  1. Those pretty daffs are positively perky! :)
Isn't it wonderful to have color in the garden again?
Wordsworth 'Daffodils' is one of my favorite poems. I posted it last year when my daffs bloomed. They just started opening last Saturday :)

It's lovely to come back to one's garden after being away, isn't it, and see what has come up.

  11. Kerri, I so enjoy looking out the window and seeing the daffodils (which are so prominent right now) as well as the other signs of Spring! The Wordsworth poem just "fits," doesn't it? :-)

  12. Hi Meems, I feel that I've "known" you for a long time, but it takes awhile on Blogger to get enough points to recognize everyone you'd like. Dancing with the daffodils is something I'm yearning to do. I think I won't last much longer in front of this computer! ;-)

  13. Joey, I can well imagine bashful daffodils. :-) I visited with our son on Easter evening. They've had crocus blooming... But Spring is on it's way! :-)

  15. RainGardener, You are absolutely right. And being in Arizona actually (hold on to your hat!) makes me appreciate Winter, too (and every season) because here each season leads into something very special. Winter is the season when I get time to do all Other things I like to do, but don't have time to do, during gardening seasons. :-)

  16. Cameron, Daffodils are just a stand-up-tall announcement of Spring's arrival. Even in North Carolina, you must certainly appreciate their show. :-)
