Gardening Gone Wild is hosting a 'Picture This' Photo Contest.
The deadline is 11:59 P.M., Saturday, August 22.
This is my entry.
This photo was taken "down on my knees" because I owned (at the time)
a camera with 3x magnification. That means that this little fellow wanted his photo taken...
and to accomplish the task, I absolutely had to get very close! :-)
You will enjoy seeing the other entries!

Hi SG~~ Good luck on the contest. Your photo is definitely award-worthy. ... I'm not sure where to find a photo of Nancy. ?
ReplyDeleteOops. I spoke too soon. She's in the garden tour post. A huge duh moment for me. We do look alike. I remember thinking that when I saw the photo earlier. They say everyone has a twin. Maybe someday we'll can stand side by side for a photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Shady! I'm still doing the "human-zoom," so I know what you mean! The bumbles on my cosmos are not always ready for their close-up.
ReplyDeleteLove your header and spent quite some time taking that nature walk in the sidebar - great show! Only sorry that Lucy didn't come... she slept right through it. /Deb
Yes, this is a good one.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot you have my vote!
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteI hope you win! It is a great bee shot!
ReplyDeleteHi All. What nice gardening friends I have!! :-) And thanks for your votes of confidence. Actually, I entered this contest for fun.
ReplyDeleteHave you checked out the other entries? They're great!
Grace, Wouldn't that be fun? You would also enjoy each other's gardens.
ReplyDeleteI love this photo Shady! Good luck in the contest~~gail
ReplyDeleteHi Shady, this one is a winner for sure! Such an unusual visitor stamen climbing! :-)
ReplyDeleteFrances
Thanks, Gail. Are you entering???
ReplyDeleteFrances, And I'm deferring to Your photo because You caught the bee in mid-air, zooming towards the prize! :-)
great picture, Aunt K!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot Shady, and good luck with it.

Hi Dellits, Thanks!! :-)
ReplyDeleteKaren, Thank you. I had such fun taking the photo and have good memories of that morning. (Doesn't matter if I win a prize. It was just fun to enter the "meme.")
It's a great photo, I do hope you get an even better replacement camera. Crocuses and visitors do demand that you be down on your knees, when it's the most damp & muddy (unlike now, when the rock is dry as a bone & rock hard).
ReplyDeleteNoticed your post the other day and just got around to view it.
ReplyDelete"Get down on your knees and show us something we haven’t seen in quite the same way before"
Very cute idea for a photo contest. Good luck Shady !
MMD, Aren't you entering? I Know you have something that would qualify!
ReplyDeletePatsi, The same goes for you. You always have great photos! :-)
You've managed to make the fly/bee look almost cute!
ReplyDeleteEllen, Thanks. I'm not sure about that... but thanks! ;-) And thanks for visiting me!
