Mr. Helping Hand May Inspire the Rest of Us

FYI: This was written Friday, Feb. 5, 2010. I just couldn't post right away, due to "circumstances." Enjoy!

Do you remember meeting Mr. Friendly? I met and introduced him in early January. If you'd like to refresh your memory, click on Mr. Friendly's name.

It's been rather nice to note that ever since his arrival, he's been "standing guard" in our front yard. However, recently it appeared that he'd begun suffering the ravages of the changing weather patterns... cold... warm... cold... warm... etc.

It seemed as though he'd decided to "hang up his hat," as it were. I got the impression he thought it was time to leave for that great Snowball Park in the Sky. He may yet be headed that direction, but I had to let you know what happened in our yard today.

Meet Mr. Friendly's neighbor-friend, Mr. Helping Hand.

Isn't it true that everyone can use a helping hand?

What a wonderful gesture. Not only has he come to the aid of his friend,

but he's come bearing gifts.

Here's a little fellow that looks interested in our Mr. Helping Hand's offering! Go ahead, little Junco. That's dessert! :-)
Nothing at all "shady" here! Just me and my buddies. :-)

  1. I liked your snow"helper". I hope we have a visitor like this to shovel our walks. Is there some kind of chant I must say?

Rosemary, I had a huge laugh when I returned home this afternoon. I hope I have time to post about it in the next few days! ha!!

Hi Gail - see my reply to Rosemary. ;-)

Mr. Brown Thumb! Thanks for visiting. Have YOU made a snow fellow lately? ha.

Hi Dee, Thanks. I can hardly wait to do a short follow-up, after a funny thing that happened today!

  6. Glad to see you're having fun making snowmen. I had one that kept bowing lower and lower...can be amusing...not this year.
I've been fine...well, tired alot but ok. Hoping spring will give me the jolt I need or maybe a vacation.

  8. Love it;-) Here, it isn't inviting outside due to strong winds...after it dies down (who knows when THAT will be?!) we'll see if we can do something similar!

  9. Hi Patsi, Are you alright? Do you think it's the Winter weather? I hope you are able to take a little time for yourself before long. A prayer for you.

troutbirder, I hadn't set out to make another... but while I was shoveling the driveway, the snow was SO HEAVY and sticky that I figured I should do something about it! ha.

Jan, If you are able to create an outdoors "guardian," please post! Thanks for your visit. :-)

Thank you for visiting today. I don't mean to make it hard for you to leave a message, but temporarily I am going to enable word verification. Too many spam messages to deal with lately. Thanks for your patience! SG
