The I's of March?
I have an idea...
that you might like to see some of my Spring-time happenings!
So we're going to play "
I Spy!"
I spy with my little
tulips
future
surprise lilies
lots of daffodils, etc.
daffodils in sedum
I spy with my little
daffs - ready to bloom!
Hellebores
This hellebore is
Brushstrokes -
a first blossom for
this 2-year-old plant!
dwarf iris
I spy with my little
a bitty crocus in the grass!
We are in March! Hope you enjoyed the "I's (eyes) of March!" ;-)
Forecast? A little mix of snow and rain by Saturday. That's normal.
It won't last long!
Aye! :-)
It's the Ides of March on the nose today. Well, yesterday, when you posted. :-)
ReplyDeleteSweet bit of colour making their way through the oak leaves.
Any day now they will all sprout forth. Enough for a bouquet.
Very clever post. And excitement in the garden!
ReplyDeleteShady you certainly have lots starting to flower in the garden. Isn't it terrific after the long winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to look into the dwarf irises, they would look great mixed with the daffodils!
ReplyDeleteCute! Love that stunning blue iris!
ReplyDeleteI spy a clever blogger! Shady your post is a delightful eyeful! xxgail
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! So much exciting new growth in your garden. It's always such a relief to see the spring plants come up.
ReplyDeleteHi SG~~ There's no doubt now. Spring is here even if winter is indecisive about taking its final exit. I spy some real beauties in your gardens. Hooray.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how the earth awakens each spring? I love this time of year. Thanks for the encouraging photos of the beautiful things to come.
ReplyDeleteI think the most exciting flower is the first one to appear on a new plant. How exciting to have a bloom on your Hellebore :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat play on words and choice today. I love all the wonderful plants poking up through the ground. Your garden will be spectacular when everthing shows its color.
ReplyDeleteJoco, Just being "punny!" ;-) It is a thrill to actually find flowers in such short order.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bobbie. :-)
You're right, Rosemary. It has been a long Winter and it is a thrill to think that Spring is beginning to settle!
Dave, these are so cute! In my zone, most of them bloom before the earliest daffodils... but not all of them! You would enjoy them.
Cameron, Isn't that a beautiful blue? I have a few others that should be blooming within a couple of weeks that are completely different, but just as beautiful.
Hi Gail. Thanks! You always catch my eye. :-)
Rebecca, You are so right... it's a RELIEF :-) This past Winter has seemed very long and cold. It was beautiful, but now we're ready for Spring and are THANKFUL!
Hi Grace, Spring is making its way here... now, we'll be happy when our northern friends are treated, also. :-)
LisaF, Thanks for your visit and comments. It's nice to have watchful company!
Noelle, The day before these photos were taken, there were two very tiny crocus in the lawn. One teeny yellow one and one teeny light blue one. I was so excited! (I know what you mean!)
photowannabe, Thanks for your visit. :-)
I love the lone crocus among the leaves in your header photo! It is just a perfect picture of spring - sort of wintery, sort of hopeful, very much makes me pull for the lone crocus! Looks like great things are about to happen in your garden.
ReplyDeleteAye, Aye! You will have blooms galore in no time! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful irises and love your I theme.
ReplyDeleteShady,
ReplyDeleteEverybodies daffodils are blooming but ours! Enjoyed your post and wit as usual.
Hi Kelly, Thanks for your visit. Is this the epitome of "Bloom where you're planted?" ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Garden Ms. S, Isn't Spring wonderful?
Lzyjo, Thank you. :-)
Randy, mine aren't blooming yet... in fact, there are only a couple of "Early Birds" that have buds. ;-)
I don't think Lady Mary was Cherokee. She was from the Rancheria in Chico California.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this Trail of Tears is a continuation of the Ok. one or they just called it that.
Good questions which I don't have the answers.
I spy similar gifts popping through the earth, dear Shady. But best of all, I spy a fun friend :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't spring wonderful?
ReplyDeleteGreat theme!
ReplyDeleteJust want to wish you HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
Have you a great one!

Hi Photowannabe, Something into which we could research! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Joey! Thanks. :-)
Rena, Absolutely!
Shakira, Thank you for visiting - Have a great day.
I love the eyes of March!
ReplyDeleteHi Tumblewords, Thank you. :-) Hope you're having a nice day! (Ours turned out to be Sunny again this afternoon!)
ReplyDeleteAn IDEAL post for the "growin' of the green", too!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable post! A lot popping up your way...so much to look forward to! And don't hellebores take their own sweet time to bloom!
ReplyDeleteTake care now.
thanks, Roger. :-)
ReplyDeleteGotta Garden, Thanks for your visit! Today was another beautiful day, and I was unable (!) to get outdoors and walk around. I need to do a bit of quick leaf coverage on many plants in anticipation of freezing temps and snow this weekend.
Your eyes spy Spring and all it's awakenings!!
ReplyDeleteSpring is finally here and you have snow in the forecast?? How would you like highs in the mid 70's?
ReplyDeleteI love the little glimpses of crocus, iris and hellebore flowers. The buds of hellebores are especially pretty. Is brushstroke going to be a red colour when it opens?
ReplyDeleteNaturegirl, It's even better today! :-)
ReplyDeleteChad and Brandy, Absolutely! It is still a possibility, but it wouldn't last long if it comes again. Love the high temps we're recieving right now (50's). I cannot believe all the things that are growing!! :-)
Northern Shade, Isn't it great. I'll be checking your site soon. Happy Looking-Forward-to-Spring!! :-)
