Green Thumb Sunday - Yellow is for

Daffodils

Wait! Those aren't daffodils!

What?

These aren't daffodils, either!

Where are the daffodils?

Oh! Here they are!

A number of different varieties, but I don't know "who" they are. I just can't keep track of everybody! ;-)

Not "shady," just fun!

  1. Hi Shady, glad you found the daffs eventually, even the sneaky all white one! Can't always be shady - thanks for the fun post. Cheers, cm

  2. I can't remember all the names of my daffodils either, or tulips for that matter. But it really doesn't matter, does it--their cheery faces are a welcome sign of spring, no matter who they are.

  3. Hi Catmint! :-)

Rose, I think it doesn't matter one bit. Thanks for visiting!

  4. Shady Daffs are a happy sign of spring but so are the greedy birds at your feeder.......Happy Spring!

  5. I love all of the sunny yellow in your garden, both on the wing and in the soil. The daffodils make such pretty flowers in your woodsy area, in all their various petal forms.

My bulbs are all playing it safe under the snow so far, but I'm hoping the sun's warmth wins out soon, melts the snow, and coaxes them out.

  6. Hi Rosemary, I was struck by those yellow flags the other day! ;-)

Northern! Hello! How are your temps these days? We truly had a couple of weeks (not in a row) of very warm weather - unseasonable - but we're in a cooler mode right now. Very pleasant, though. Glad to "see" you!

  7. Oh my ~ that's a LOT of goldfinches! I've never seen so many in one spot.
Your daffodils are pretty too ~ you have so many varieties.
Strange that the 'lutea' fritillaria didn't do well. Since we're in the same zone you'd think it would? I only have one bulb but it's come up reliably for the last four/five years. Some years it's gotten frozen out tho and not made it to bloom.
Hope you had a great weekend!

  8. I enjoyed this fun post. The bird feeders were cool. I love all of the daffodils, and I can't remember the names of mine, either. I'd rather grow pretty flowers than know the names of flowers, but not grow any. I don't know it that makes any sense at all, but I tend to think "out loud", so there it is.

    Happy spring!

  9. ps I can believe the fritillaria wards off moles ~ it certainly has a strong aroma to it!

  10. Hi Kathleen, Not only has it been fun to watch all the goldfinches (you can get pretty close to them while you work outdoors), but that many of them make a lot of twittering (tweeting?)! ha.

Hi Sue, I'm sure I understand what you said! ha!! :-)

  11. Shady,
The names can easily vanish in the garden and in the head, no big deal. Several of these we have in our garden. Wish I could share some of these radishes with you.

  13. Hi Randy, I'd LOVE to have you share... but the freight wouldn't be worth it. ;-) I can't believe you had carrots!
