Garden Blogger's Bloom Day - July 15, 2011

Please visit Carol at May Dreams Gardens to see the other BGGD posts!

The Raised Beds are looking colorful ... oh, I wish you could see them in real life!

This is what you'd see if you got close enough to each blooming plant (I don't know half their names!):

'Strawberry Candy'
Campanula - 'Bell Ringers'

'Startle'

'Spiritual Corridor'
renegade Chive

(I brushed away a crazy beetle - pollinator or mess-maker?)
liatris

  'Siloam Double Classic'

Purple Coneflower

Monarda/Beebalm 'Jacob Cline'

renegade Yarrow

 Platycondon/Balloon Flower 'Double White"

'Mammoth'

??????

Mallow

Laura (from Aunt MEA)

And THAT is what you'd see blooming today.
:-)

  1. isn't this a great couple weeks for color? We share many of the same bloomers as evidence on our posts today and yesterday. I am jealous of your Bee balm. Mine is lacking this year.

  3. What a lot of colour.
So many different daylilies in one garden. Double ones as well. I have two kinds, both single :-)
And the monarda is a beautiful colour too. A lot of treasures.

  4. A bounty of blooms, Shady! I'm a daylily lover, too, and it really doesn't matter whether we know the names or not, we can enjoy them all the same. You certainly have a lovely variety. I have some renegades, too, and as long as they behave themselves, I let them stick around:)

  6. I love all the pink and lavender shades in your daylilies. I have a number in that color range, but none of mine have come into bloom yet. It's something to look forward to, but it was also a pleasure to enjoy yours while I'm waiting. -Jean

  7. Nellie, Several of the unnamed varieties have been a long time in coming. We will have moved here 10 years ago in October, and a previous owner had planted them a few years prior. Untended gardens and oak leaves, etc. nearly took care of them. It has taken this long (well, at least a couple of them) to build up enough strength to show me their colors! :-)

Hi Muffy, Do you have a place to begin your own??

Jo, Thanks for visiting. This area has truly been a pleasure lately. Sometimes we gain our strength in the loveliness around us.

Hi Rose, Your gardens are truly lovely this year!!!

Mama Cupcake, check some discounted areas right now... you might find some good bargains. Tuck them into a semi-shady spot and keep a watch on them...

Hi Liz, I'm so glad you enjoyed them.

Jean, I feel the same way each Spring when the "southern" gardeners begin posting about their new blossoms. :-)

Thank you for visiting today. I don't mean to make it hard for you to leave a message, but temporarily I am going to enable word verification. Too many spam messages to deal with lately. Thanks for your patience! SG
