Hi, Shady! Looks like you have a gloriosa lily (Gloriosa rothschildiana or Gloriosa superba 'Rothschildiana'). You're so lucky; I've tried it several times with no success, but yours looks very happy!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nan!!
ReplyDeleteOh that's too much fun.
ReplyDeleteYou have a mystery on your hands.
Pretty flowers and leaves.

ReplyDeleteStunning!! Definitely lily-ish, but not one I hae seen before. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteShady,

ReplyDeleteShady, I planted Gloriosa for the first time a few weeks ago - still waiting for them to emerge from the soil. Can't wait! They look SO pretty in your photos.
ReplyDeleteit is delightful.
ReplyDeleteHeard of it. Never saw it. Now I know. Really neat. Is it zone 4 hardy? Probably not. :)
ReplyDeleteNot Hardy!! But we treated them as we would an amaryllis... just let them dry up, cut off the foliage and left them in the pot until Spring.
ReplyDeleteNice plant, but no idea what it is - except that it looks vaguely lilyish!
ReplyDeleteI've been catching up on what you've been up to whilst I've been galivanting round foreign parts! That baltimore Oriole is stunning ...wish we had birds like that over here!
What a lovely plant... made more special as it was a gift.......sometimes they turn out to be the best.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic. I've only seen in catalogs. Would love to see in person. Looks great in a container.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very unusual and beautiful flower. I will have to look into it.
