Praise the Lord! We got 1/2" last night too and it really perked things up. I see you are a Master Gardener - me too! Enjoy the rest of your week. Beth
Shady, Good to hear, hope more comes your way!! We have been getting a bit of rain here more than the past 7 years during June and July, in fact the whole state is out of a drought for the first time in about 7 years.
I'm so happy for you, especially after reading your last post! We've been dealing with the same conditions, although we have had a couple of rainshowers in the last month, probably totaling 2 to 2 1/2 inches altogether. Still, the garden is pretty stressed. As you say, there's only so much a hose can do...which reminds me I'd better go back outside and move the sprinkler:)
Wonderful. Our situation was similar although perhaps not quite so bad. The corn crop tassel a week passed and then the rain came to save the day.... :)
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a nice comment on my blog! You are right, I live in central Iowa. We had another .4 inch of rain last night. Grateful! Hugs, Beth
Hi Beth, We received 1/2" of rain last night!! :-) It was hot again today (I'm sure it was at your place, too), but at least things didn't look as stressed. Yea!
Hi Randy, I know you've had quite the time these past few years - and it's so good to know you're receiving a good year's worth of rain!! (Gonna have ice on the pond again this year??) ;-)
Rosemary, it sounds as though you're dry, too.
I'm apologizing to my garden-blogger friends... I've just had a hard time visiting this summer... back at it before long, I hope! Thanks for your patience and continued visits. :-)
Thank you for visiting today. I don't mean to make it hard for you to leave a message, but temporarily I am going to enable word verification. Too many spam messages to deal with lately. Thanks for your patience! SG

Lucky you!!! We're hot, windy, and bone dry here. But I am glad that the little bits of rain we have had have put some water in my barrels, too. :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Shady,
ReplyDeleteI am happy for you. We only got a few sprinkles. We are really needing more soon. I am watering, though, and most plants are doing OK.
