I've been told that a quilt is not supposed to be "perfect." So, if you look closely you'll find that mine is not.
A Quilting Poem
author unknown
This quilt is made of cloth and thread
To place upon your little bed.
It's not an heirloom-just to keep,
But to lay upon as you count sheep.
Or perhaps the floor's the perfect place
For a doll and teddy picnic space.
This quilt can be anything you can dream-
From superman's cape to the robe of a queen.
Pretend it's a raft adrift at sea,
Or just cuddle up when you watch TV.
So use it up and wear it out-
I promise I won't yell or pout.
Just tell me when its days are through,
And I'll make another, just for you.

Your quilts are beautiful - the colours are striking. Your granddaughter will treasure her quilt for her lifetime!
The quilting poem is a special one. Thank you!
Hi Kate,
Thank you for your kind comments... I hope she does treasure it. I would have, had I had the opportunity. :-)
I've never seen a nine patch done in such a pretty way! Your colors are lovely for a granddaughter. If the one I'm making for my daughter doesn't turn out, I think I'll try your nine patch version. Did you get the pattern out of a book?
Ah, the pattern was given at a class. I'll see if I can locate it for you. :-)
Your quilt is so pretty, Mom! Great job!
Thanks, honey! :-)
Great poem - it reminds me of how imaginative my kids can be.
MMD, How are you? I thought it was a touching poem, also. I'm sorry I couldn't give proper credit.
Wish I was your granddaughter! That's beautiful!
Kylee,
I'd have the "better end of the deal" if we were related! (I'd go on all those wonderful garden tours with you and your mom!) ;-)
