A Few More Daylilies

"Happy Returns"
(in the front yard)

"Strawberry Candy"
(raised beds)
If you might have any idea as to the identity of the
next three photos... feel free to let me know.
I've not yet investigated them.
(They were in the flower bed when we moved here.)

"Temple Goddess"

"Fairy Tale Pink"

"Purple d'Oro"

"Summer Wine"

"Fragrant Treasure"

New Water Lily
(I'll post the name later)

Now that I've been "blogging" for a year, I can better understand the reasoning behind the system of labels. It helps ME find previously written posts much easier! (And it might help you, too.) So, you might notice my labels. :-)

Hi Shady,
Yes, using the labels feature really helps one organize things for quick reference. I love 'em and have been using them since they were introduced. Though it can be a bit time consuming, it's worth taking the time to go back and label as many posts as you can before you get too many. I don't have any from my first year of blogging because they weren't implemented yet and I can't add them to the really old posts. If you're not sure what to do, just open (edit) your old posts, insert the labels and re-publish. Everything else will remain the same, unless you want to make other changes.

You have some really colorful day lilies! A few years ago someone was wanting to give me some Happy Returns plants, but I turned them down (like a fool). It's taken me a long time to come around to day lilies.

I'll bet one of those peachy ones (the one without the bug) is Fairy Tale Pink. It's such a popular one. (And not pink.) Is 'Many Happy Returns' the same as 'Happy Returns'?

Hello there!
First, I love your blog!! Second, I'm no expert on daylilies and without seeing how big the flowers are, plant height etc., I'm gonna take a guess..
1. maybe Pardon Me
2. ??
3. maybe Barbara Mitchell

Let us know if you find out the real identities :) Have a great day.

IVG, There really are some beautiful day lilies out there! People have to get beyond the orange ditch lilies (which are okay in their place!)Have you checked out my July 4th post? ;-)

MMD, I believe you found the right ID for the light peach one. I'm going to make a label for Fairy Tale Pink right now! I believe the one with the katydid nymph is "Temple Goddess."

And, yes... I think I was getting a bit poetic when I wrote Many Happy Returns... as "of the day?" ha. Anyway, the daylily is really "Happy Returns."

Anonymous, Thank you for your kind comments. :-) And thanks for your help in attempting to ID two of the daylilies! I want you and MMD to check out this site: http://www.ofts.com/photo/dl_view.html
It's a wonderful site that has photos and descriptions of about all the daylilies in the world! ha?
Anyway, you both should check out "Ruffled Ivory." It's also very close to the light peach one, but it's a little too light, I think. Thanks again! :-)
