These blossoms aren't used to 100+ degrees Farenheit for over a week in early July!!
So something else has "popped up" in the garden!
In Iowa, if we ever HAVE 100 degrees days, they happen in August.
LOL
Guess you might say this is a "shady" subject!

Is that Platunus umbrelifera 'Golfers Paradise"?
I had to do something similar but involved hanging a curtain on the outside of a window to block reflected heat. Crazy, but highly effective. I like your umbrellas. :o) Whatever works!!
Good Idea! People walking by must have thought "there lives a dedicated gardener"!
Brought a smile at the new shade ~ hot here too way too dry.....
I have to umbrella my entire yard here.... :)
Hi, I'm from Iowa too. It cooled a tad this week, but is still quite warm. Like your umbrella trick!

Hi Reed, I think you're right! lol
Casa, You're right! Some of my friends and I had a "painting party" today... to work on these umbrellas (plus others). Will hope to post soon!
Hi Ruth... either that or... there's a crazy one that lives there! ha.
Hi Rosemary. It's an odd year everywhere, I think!
Darla - I'd love to see THAT! ha.
Beth, Thank you for your visit. You're right. I watered in 80+ degree heat the other day, because it felt so cool! ha.
