Flying Flowers
"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
I love prairies, especially the coneflowers and butterfly weed. Adjacent Lake Louise (Leroy Minn) and Hayden (Lime Spring Iowa) are both just bursting out.
Hi Rose, I understand completely! There were so many butterflies, it was fairly easy to take a few photos! :-)
Dave, This prairie is the result of about 15 years' hard work by my husband. The land is about half an hour's drive away from our house.
Hi Monica, I'm SURE you do!! :-)
Thanks Rosemary. I'm happy that I can now visit you. ;-)
Troutbirder, You're right. The flowers are just now "bursting out!" :-) You are fortunate to have a couple of true prairies so nearby!
Hi Grace, You are completely forgiven. ;-) I have to tell you that my being on the computer has been totally sporadic these days!! Summer fun and activities are taking priority!! Glad to have you stop by whenever you can. :-)
Thank you for visiting today. I don't mean to make it hard for you to leave a message, but temporarily I am going to enable word verification. Too many spam messages to deal with lately. Thanks for your patience! SG
Beautiful, Shady! Usually when I have my camera with me, the butterflies all fly away, but if I don't, they are there to enjoy.
