Scavenger Hunt Sunday

SUNSET
(taken September 5, 2011)
When I was little, while playing a game that demanded we be wearing a certain color,
one of the girls would call out "Sky Blue Pink."
I looked for it for years... think I'm finally getting a handle on it!

BLACK AND WHITE
You can make a difference, especially during a dry season.  Save water...
(I happen to love the reflection in the windows!)

A DAY IN MY LIFE
(Following friends to the State Fair - August 13, 2011)

FOUR
(Taken on New Year's Eve, Omaha, NE)

COLORFUL
Again in Omaha, NE.
We enjoyed the New Year's Eve fireworks indoors,
due to the cold, rainy evening!

I was driving home in the rain the other night and taking photos like yours here came to mind. Great minds think alike I guess.

  7. Hi Shady, it's lovely to be back at last :-) and to see your lovely, colourful photos. Oddly, I just glanced out of the window (it is 4:50pm here and the light is fading) and there is the most beautiful sky blue pink sky! I also heard on the tv that in some parts of the UK the Northern Lights were visible last night and may be tonight too, unfortunately I am not far enough north.

I loved Mr Shady's birdbath on the last post and all your birdies especially those beautiful Cardinals.

  8. Thank you for all your kind comments. :-)

Hi Shy, I'm so glad to have you stop by! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to see the Northern Lights?

  9. We used to get sent to look for Sky Blue Pink with Yellow Dots on! Seriously tricky that one ...but I'm sure it gave my parents a bit of peace and quiet for a while!:)

Lovely photos Shady and I do so love your Cardinals.

I've seen the Northern Lights - when we were up near Aberdeen in Scotland and once from here, but they weren't as good! It's well worth a trip to the Arctic Circle to see them!

  12. Hi Liz, HOW did I miss your comment??

Oh, boy. With yellow dots, nonetheless. I'd still be working on that one! ;-)

I envy you seeing the Northern Lights at the Arctic circle. In extreme northern Iowa, where I grew up, we saw them once-in-awhile - but not as beautifully as you'd see them if you lived further north! (And now, there are so many lights dotting the countryside...)
