I must admit, three valentine posts may be a "bit much," but I liked all these poems and couldn't decide on just one! :-)
Conversation Hearts
In February, bring them home,
pink, yellow, lavender
and lime pastels
BE MINE I'M YOURS
to be read by the tongue
that licks the chalk
and tastes what it spells.
I'll give you a boxful,
tasting of daphne, lupine,
mint and columbine;
a mouthful of secrets,
lovelier than whispers,
dear ones, friends
I'M YOURS BE MINE
by Nina Payne
Maybe these flowers don't quite match the poem, but don't they get you ready for those early, early Spring bouquets?

ReplyDeleteGets me thinking I should go out and check my lily-of-the-valley. Sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, Happy Valentine's Day. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo such thing as too many posts on any topic, 'Shady'. I love the simple charm of that bouquet--delicate and heartfelt. Hope it's been a lovely day for you and yours.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem and I do think the flowers go with it. Happy Valentines Day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jodi, it has been a beautiful day weatherwise, and a very nice day in every other way. Happy 'Heart' Day! :-)
ReplyDeleteLisa, Thanks. Happy Valentine's Day to you, too. :-)
Love all your poems , will be interested in seeing your amyarllis flower , so many!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jodi ~ you can't have too many posts/poems on a subject. I can see why you couldn't choose just one! Pretty bouquet ~ so delicate looking.
ReplyDeleteIt snowed here again, but a nice couple of inches that lay so nicely on the branches of trees and shrubs. Two of my single gal-pal friends and I went out to lunch and then for a stroll through two antique malls. :)
ReplyDeleteRosemary, Thanks! I'm excited to see them, too! (I've learned to bring them indoors way before the end of October!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteKathleen, I can see that YOU would really like such a little bouquet. (I did, too!) ;-) It was just beautiful.
Monica, What a fun day you had!!
Enjoyed the bouquet as much as the poem. May I have one of those candy hearts? /Deb
ReplyDeleteDeb, Absolutely!! :-)
