"I'm growing Nasturtium "Spitfire" for the Grow project. Thanks, to Renee's Garden for the seeds."
We were out of town from August 2 - August 16.
The nasturtiums were pretty much "on their own."
It did rain, but it also was Very, Very Hot and dry most of the time.
Here are photos I can share:

The best looking bunch are out in the Sunny Corner Bed.
This one plant in the front pot looked photo-worthy,
so you can see what it looked like today.

These little fellows were planted in my friends' garden

They do not seem to be thriving . . .

Last Spring, I my friends and I began this flower garden in their front yard.
It's in a rather low spot with clay soil (the usual fare around here).

Now, check out the photos below! This is what their garden looks like today.

It is, I think, a case of the grass always being greener! love the post thoug.
Hi Catharine, It could be. ;-) Thanks.
These are certainly bright blooms! I didn't participate in this project, but I did plant some other nasturtium seeds from Renee's. Mine didn't do well at all, but I think this has not been a good year for nasties. Last year's cooler summer seemed much more to their liking.
Mmmmm. It must be the weather this summer. I like them though. Usually no fuss no muss.
Love nasturtiums. With the hot dry summer not looking their best.
Rose, I believe you're right. It's been a LONG time since I've raised nasturtiums, but my memory tells me they did much better then - than they've done this year!
troutbirder. I'm sure it's the weather.
Hi Rosemary, Thanks for stopping in. I don't think I'll bother with these flowers again.
Great post! It's wonderful to see the progress of your friend's garden, I remember the original post, it was shortly after I discovered your blog. I will be starting a new bed for a friend over the next week or so and you've inspired me to post about it too...:)
Hi Rebecca! Good for You! I'll look forward to seeing what you do. :-)
Interesting. Maybe my nasturtiums do well because even if it's hot during the day, the nights are cool?? I have had good luck this summer despite the heat with mine. That was a good project to participate in.
Your friends garden has filled in nicely too. I bet they love it.
