Just a Moment...

A Right Moment in Time

Susan spied him the moment he entered

he stood at the far eastern end.

She shyly cast glances upon him

wondering what was he was there to attend.

His expression was woefully sullen

as though he had come to ‘the end…’

She wondered and wondered about him.

Might he she entreat as a friend?

He was pitifully dressed and downtrodden;

his clothes sorely needed a mend.

She’d never used thread or a needle,

Inept, she could clearly not mend.

It was then that she fondly remembered

attire that perhaps she might wend

from a closet way down in the basement.

Would he his pride or his honor defend?

Oh, whether or not she could find them,

Oh, whether or not she might lend,

Oh, whether or not they would fit him,

On which matter would this finally depend?

She found them, she tried them, they fit.

He accepted them, they’re on the right track!

Susan’s generosity has given new meaning

to “giving the shirt off one’s back!”

Slightly silly, perhaps slightly "Shady," and we're still in the garden! ;-)
Have a nice evening!

Yes, this was written by "Yours truly." Just enjoy it. You really shouldn't copy it.

Shady,
I'm still chuckling about this little exchange! Actually I think she looks much better in the flowered dress, and livelier too, lol. I'm glad you can get away with such whimsy ... very cool. I think if we had fake folks in the garden (other than at Halloween, which we do), the neighbors would really think we'd gone off the deep end ... but yours are so fun I always have to smile. :-)

Mr.BT, It definitely has a rhythm, doesn't it? Thanks for snapping your fingers! :-)

IVG, I know. I wanted to ask my neighbors last night if it gave them the "creeps" to have two people in the garden next to their house! I didn't see them, but perhaps tonight. I was in need of some fun entertainment yesterday, I think! ha.

Bobbie, Thanks for visiting. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ah, a story of true garden love! How thoughtful of you to make a friend for Susan.

MMD, I was in need of some garden silliness therapy yesterday, I guess! :-)

Shady,
I'd say unless you get a complaint or funny looks, I'd let them be ... but maybe move them around to keep people guessing, lol. After, all they are just scarecrows! :-)

Yeah, I'm really not worried. :-) Are you getting a good dose of rain? We got another last night and this morning. Haven't checked the gauge, but it was certainly welcome!

How cute are they??? I got a scarecrow this summer (need to blog about it!) and even now, I see him out of the corner of my eye and think there's someone there. LOL.

Kylee, I know. I hope my neighbors are getting used to their being out there! ;-)
