They're ready to blossom!
This dainty looking violet below was purchased at the grocery store tonight.
I don't know a thing about it - except to say that it was an exceptionally reasonable purchase!
:-)
It's in "isolation" right now - until I know for sure it's not inhabited by critters.
It's just keeping itself out of the compost pile - for one more year! ha.
Actually, the bulb became so healthy last year that it had a baby. I'll leave it in the pot this Summer and remove it next Winter when I give everyone a re-potting.
Just thought you might like to see the greenest of the green here!
Nothing Shady, yet.

amaryllis is looking happy and healthy - don't let it hear your compost remark or it may droop in fear!
What beautiful violets.
My amaryllis bulb is headed to the composter if it doesn't do something soon. I threatened it last year and kept it any way. So, it's on its last chance.
Hi Liz, Here's the laugh: Last year, in Marcy, I threatened 5 amaryllis bulbs that they MUST bloom or "out to the compost pile you go!" They each sent up stalks and bloomed. I keep telling them this year that they must bloom, "or else." For 3 of them, it seems to have worked. (Every year I give one away.)
Hi Gardener, Threaten it again. I have one bulb that may end up out there this year...
Oh, I laughed out loud where you said 'it's just keeping itself outta the compost pile!' I sometimes suspect my lazy houseplants of the same last ditch effort.
Congrats on your violets and your amaryllis..it will be a while before ours bloom as they are in the garden.
Hi Kate! It's true. ;-)
Darla - Oh you people in those warm climes. ;-)
Yay flowers! You gotta get them where ever you can.
Shady all your babies looks so healthy. So nice to see the promise of flowers at this time of the year.
I have been waiting to see any hint of a bloom on my A.V. but no luck.
Enjoy yours!
They are pretty!
