Just thought you needed to see what has been not only thriving.but growing green and lush, here this Spring. It is now blooming!
You won't believe it at all... most of you with this plant, experienced its blossoms LONG ago. But not me. Somehow my plant looked peaked last Fall, so I did some soil enrichment, etc. Guess it noticed the amendment this Spring... Anyway, without further ado, let me present
My Hellebore!
Maybe it just wanted to announce its arrival
by being a little on the sneaky side.
Not too shady, here, yet.
But we're "getting there."

I think your Hellebore is reason to celebrate! I was thrilled the first time mine bloomed, it was cold out and there was this interesting bloom!

Shady, you're not the only one with tardy hellebores! Ours are only starting to bloom this week here... they've been slow to get established for us (about 3-4 yrs) but the one blooming now is lovely (its first time) and even though pink, I think it's lovely. I'll probably post it sometime next week at my place if you want to take a look. Is yours one of the "Royal Heritage" strains? That's what we have and some have truly odd colors, lol. We love 'em though!

Yay, for the Hellebore! All of my orientalis hybrids are still blooming & have more buds. I can't stop taking photos of them.

I can just picture you down on the ground getting set up for the perfect shot! And a perfect shot it is. Only one of my hellebores bloomed this year, but at least there's foliage coming out. Hopefully, they'll do better next year.

As soon as the car rolled to a stop, I had to take a quick tour around the yard before unloading luggage, etc.! ha.
Gail, I think I saw your hellebore blossoms while mine were still taking the shock from Winter! :-)
IVG, I believe you've identified my hellebore. I agree, I'll take 'em how ever I can get them! ;-) I did order a couple of new plants "Brushstrokes Strain" and will plant them tomorrow! YES, I AM feeling a little panicked... I'm going for a load of nice composted dirt early tomorrow a.m.!

Wooo-hooo on the helibore. Glad you had a nice visit. I have used a yard of topsoil already--it's gone! I need another yard, and wood chips. I have to move rocks too...
