Isn't your orchid lovely! I'm glad you asked! Thank you! The Empress Toad Lily is blooming~~it loved all the rain we had and is putting on quite a show. I've even posted a photo of her...that I neglected to label! How was your weekend? gail
Such a pretty orchid! I've still got quite a bit blooming, but not much is new for fall. My 'Josephine' Clematis decided to start blooming again though and that got me pretty excited.
Hi Gail! I'll head right over to see 'The Empress!' I've not seen her yet. I had a great weekend - and a great "last week!" I've just finished posting on some of my other blogs and a new post will appear here tomorrow, too. ;-)
Catherine, 'Josephine' must be quite the clematis. That is exciting! My 'Niobe' is getting quite a bit of shade... I don't think she's supposed to be a shade-lover. I may have to move her next Spring.
That's a great orchid - I love the color. All the fall bloomers are doing their thing except for the Aster tataricus and the Mum, they're still in bud.
Hi Shady~~ I love your orchid. You should be proud. People say they aren't difficult to grow but they're so exotic, they look difficult.
You asked about the Japanese Blood Grass. No it's not invasive for me but my soil tends to get very dry during the growing season. I'm thinking if it were planted in damp soil it might tend to get out of hand but that's just a guess. Hope this helps.
MMD, I love the color, too. I've great hopes for my white one. I'm orchid-sitting for one of my neighbor-friends. I'm hoping her white one (which is blooming like Crazy) will induce mine to start blooming again! ;-)
Grace, I think they're a little "touchy," but this is only the second time I've tried to grow them. Aren't they beautiful?? I think you're right about the J. Blood Grass. I'd not thought about planting it in a pot. That's a great idea, I think! :-)
Rosemary, What does your orchid look like? Is it the same type as mine??
Monica - You should try one. I actually found this one on the sale table at a neighboring town's Lowe's (lumber, lighting, etc., etc) store.
