Before We Go Any Further... You've Got to See This!

You need to see the activity in
Mr. Shady's birdbath
!

(actually, it's mine, but it was a gift from Mr. S -
and he recently installed it!)

December 2, 2010
Click on the photos to enlarge! It's more fun!

Come on in fellows, the water's FINE!

All - Right!

Is it just me, or is it getting a little crowded?

It's just you.

Hey! Is someone watching??

Don't you think they'd at least have the decency to pull the blinds?

Maybe you'd like to get in on the action? Play the video below! :-)

Yes, we still had a little snow Wednesday, Dec. 1.
This is the first time one of our Fat Squirrels has made the effort
to climb this double shepherd's hook to
try out the sorghum from Mr. Shady's field.

Yes! We're watching you!!

I may be getting 'shady' thoughts about this fellow!
ha.

That is so cute. Your pictures would make a good sales pitch for the birdbath. I use a heated dog food bowl, but it doesn't see that kind of action.

That's hilarious, especially the video clip. I've never seen so much action in a bird bath either.

thanks for this - enjoyed the video clip. Such happy enthusiastic sparrows

What fun and its got me thinking maybe I should be looking into that "heated" concept for the birds. But a certain large canine would probably..... oh well.

Hi Sande, Well... you could mount your dog's dish up higher... but then your dog probably wouldn't like that very well. ;-)

Garden Lily, I found myself taking the photos and when there was so much action, I thought - hm! a video! ha. I'm so glad I did.

Hi catmint! I'm glad you enjoyed this - I haven't seen you lately (but then, neither have I been to visit!) Happy December!

Troutbirder, Yes - your Baron would LOVE this heated "dog dish!" :-)

Cute little birdies! Why have I never noticed before that you're in Iowa? We lived in Des Moines for 3 years and loved the spring and fall. Bitter winter (our first was the humdinger of 2000-2001) and sticky summer weren't my favorite!

Hi VW! Spring and Fall are the best. :-) You Really Were here during a long, cold, snowy Winter! That's one I truly remember, too.

How long have you been in Washington?

Too sweet !!!!!!
Boy, these little ones are having a good time.
SUPER SHOTS !

Hi Patsi, Wasn't that fun?? The birdbath is conveniently CLOSE to my window!!! :-)

Wonderful time the birds had , made me smile.

Shady Gardener said...

Hi Rosemary - Quite the "hairdos" lol. I had a lot of fun watching as I took the photos :-)

I enjoyed your story of the birds and the bath. You should print them out and make a book. I bet you could come up with a story about the squirrels, too. ;o)

It got down to single digits last night. I've been cold all morning, even with a long sleeved shirt and a zippered sweatshirt. I guess the sweatshirt is not as heavy as some are. I'll have to start wearing the heavier ones.

What fun, Shady! Looks like the birdbath is a great hit with your feathered residents, and what a great way to watch them this winter. I see you have a woodpecker in the background; I'm still waiting for one to appear here. Did you get snow this weekend? We had nearly 7"!

I love that! It's funny how that woodpecker is so busy with the feeder while the sparrows are partying in the hot tub. Now why didn't I buy a heated birdbath last winter?

Thanks for your visit today, Canada Joy! I love the birds' expressions, too! Too funny. :-)

Hi Gail, You are such a good blogger buddy. ;-) Thanks!

MMD, How did I miss your comment?? You could STILL purchase a heated bird bath and you'd have a great time watching the antics as well as the number/variety of birds! (And squirrgrrrels!)
