Valentines I gave a hundred Valentines.
a hundred, did I say?
I gave a thousand Valentines
one cold and wintry day.
I didn't put my name on them
or any other words,
because my Valentines were seeds
for February birds.

Looking forward to a Happy Valentine's Day?

Wow! That's what your yard looks like now ! ?
It's beautiful.
Very sweet...taking care of your friends.
That's a sweet poem:)
Did you just get all that (horrible) snow? It looks like winter;) It's only 35 days 'til spring!
Sorry-don't mean to rub it in!!
(hehe)
Hello Patsi and Jan, No this was from an earlier snowfall. :-) We don't have a bit of snow (well, maybe a little tiny bit here and there) right now. But then, there's the forecast for today...
Love those little hearts and poem. Happy Valentine's Day!
A very lovely Valentine!
Joey and Bobbie, Happy Valentine's Day to you, too. :-)
Your yard looks like mine, except it is full of happy birds. We only have cats! Beautiful verse1
Hello Shady. I loved the poem and the concept - and I think the chances of Himself remembering it's Valentines Day tomorrow are pretty slim now that First-Born isn't here to remind him(!), so I reckon the birds will get their valentines seeds instead!!!
Hi Shady,
You always find the perfect poems to make the holidays fun~~Have a fantastic weekend and Happy Valentine's Day to you!!
Gail
I'm not big on Valentine's Day personally (and wasn't even when I was married), but i do send a card to my mom, niece, and sister.
Pat, Then you can assume I'm happy that the cats are in your yard! lol ;-)
Nutty Gnome, You and I together will most likely just be feeding birds! ;-) That's okay.
Hi Gail!! :-) Thanks! Happy Valentine's Day to you, to!
Monica, I'd rather someone remember my birthday... but I, too, send cards to special people. Just to tell them I "heart" them! :-)
You bet I am. Nothing grand planned just looking forward to it. happy valentines day to you.
How thoughtful to not leave the birds out. I'm going to make sure I leave them some "Valentines" tomorrow too. :-) Hope you have a happy Valentine's Day yourself Shady Gardener.
What a neat thought. Seeds, er Valentines for our feathered friends. I need to go check my feeders.
Oh how wonderful! Valentine's for the birds. I am doing the big backyard bird count today and have spread the seed far and wide in hopes of a good count. Do join in!

Lisa, Happy Day! :-)
Kathleen, I'm going to visit some friends today (and tomorrow!) that I rarely get to see.
troutbirder, Oh! My feeder needs to be filled this morning... think I'll throw seed on our new-fallen snow! :-)
Frances, good for you!!! I will wait to participate until next year. I was very conscientious about participating in Project Feederwatch last year. I rejoined this year, and continue to feed the birds, but have not not done my tally-work faithfully.
How great a fit was this? This is my favorite poem... glad to see your birds having a Happy Valentine's./Deb
Hi Deb! I'm glad I picked your favorite! ;-) I love the happy birds. Our snow is disappearing fast!
