I can't wait to see all the blooms! I've never grown amaryllis, but I think I will have to try it next year.

Catherine, ::-)))

Nat, I hope I have plenty of flowers to post! Two of these bulbs bloomed last Winter. The rest were two small. They all spent the summer outdoors this past summer and grew nice and large. I hope I can share some of them with friends!

Wow is right! Your bulbs have really grown in less than two weeks! I've been waiting for almost two months, and though there are green shoots, there are still no blooms:) I wish you better luck than I.

Wow is right! This is what dreams are made of ... now, what shall we name them :)

That is crazy fast. Are they know for growing quickly? You must have a special touch.

These are looking so good - well done you, you obviously have the nurturing touch :)!

oops. I forgot to start a few of my amarylises for Easter. Thanks for the neat reminder.

Rose, That happened to me Last Year! Most of these bulbs were new (an after Christmas $1 each sale), but small. Hopefully they're healthier now. :-)

MMD - Love the cheerleader!

Gail, My best container is the multi-colored one that my two Michigan granddaughters painted with me last summer. :-) Some of the others are still those greenhouse plastic ones, but that will change if I give some of them away! :-)

Lisa, I'm afraid most of them will be red... but not All of them.

Joey! ;-) I hope they turn out to be "friendship flowers."

Gardeness, I think they were waiting for water! ha.

NG, see above comment. :-)

troutbirder, I hope they bloom by then. (Yours and mine, both)

No word, cause everyone knows it's coming.

Those are some healthy looking plants. I had an Amaryllis once and loved how gimungus it was but I've never had another one - maybe because I didn't know how to keep it for the next year. Can't wait to see the bloom post and how great they all look.

blossom, I hope there will be flowers to photograph soon.

RainGardener, They're very pretty, aren't they? I like Gail's idea of making a wire support (from previous post).

Are these amaryliss' ones that bloomed at Christmas, too? I didn't know they'd bloom again until the following season. I usually stash mine away in a cool, dry, dark place until the next year. Those will be gorgeous this time of yr...in time for Easter!

Jan, I've just been waiting for these girls to bloom all Winter. I understand any confusion, as Everyone has been posting amaryllis blossoms all Winter. Mine? They rested until I couldn't stand it anymore, brought them upstairs, and began watering! ha!

Hi Shady,
Wow, that's a lot of amaryllis you have collected! I hate to say ours are still in the basement ... we keep forgetting them and I've been so busy with work I don't even remember! That's bad!! We'll get ours up eventually, though they may bloom about the time the hibiscus do! :-)

IVG, I was under the impression I had to wait for them to grow on their own. Only one had done that, so I finally gave them light and water... and within a couple of days, they were growing! :-)

I think they are making up for lost time Shady Gardener!!! or at least redeeming themselves for taking so long to show signs of life. I bet you will have Easter blooms ~ that will be fun and a change of pace!

Kathleen, I'm so excited. More so that I'm looking forward to giving a few away! :-)
