Hey, a mini squirrel. Ha. Sorry to hear about the bulbs. Voles cleaned out a little over 100 of them in one of our beds. All the bulbs will be wrapped in wire this fall.
Chad and Brandy, I began that with my tulips when I moved here. I had the same problem with these little striped gophers at "our other place." After we moved, I vowed I wouldn't grow tulips unless I encased them. However, making little wire cages is Labor Intensive! (So I risked it and planted unprotected bulbs around last year.) Wonder if there will be any left next Spring? (Hopefully they didn't figure a way to get inside my cages!) ha.
Hi Patsi, That little gopher just got himself in trouble. He entered my live trap. I'm just now on the way to a local park to release him. Do you think I should be spray painting his tail so I'd know if he finds his way home? :-)

Haha, that was great - I've never seen a gopher!
Quintessential opportunists, they are.
I just can't think of gophers as cute anymore. Too many plants devoured. for my liking.
But I like your shots!

Nutty Gnome, Once you've experienced them, you're pretty much ready to have them leave! ;-)
Grace, Yes, indeed!
Rosey Pollen, They've been finding my tulip bulbs. I knew they would, but I was Just Hoping... Boy do they tunnel! Thanks! :-)
