Three Years! Three?

Photo taken April 17, 2010.

"No way!" I said. "I cannot have been blogging here for three years already!" (Don't I sound argumentative?)

"Yes way," she replied. "It's been three years. I know because you wrote about Susy and me in your seventh post - and That was dated May 29, 2007. I also checked the computer this afternoon, and your very first post was dated May 21, 2007."

Oh for heaven's sakes. She was right, you know. She is Nearly Always right, that Gladys. Actually, she and I have been friends for some time. If you'd like to see that post, click on these words.

But, I digress. I want to share with you the exciting episode (my opinion) of The Fox written May 28, 2007. You will soon note that my posts began as long-winded diary entries. While I enjoyed writing them, perhaps no one would want to read them these days?!

The fox again surfaced briefly in this post, written March 27, 2009.

The Fox? Photo? Oh, yes! Here are a couple more photos of (is it the same one?) The Fox taken out the family room window, this past March 17, 2010. I was talking on my cell phone when I glanced out the window and spotted her. These are the results of my one-handed, zoom/zoom power photography endeavors. :-)

This is a 10x zoom through the window.

These are as close as I could zoom!

The fantastic fox photos below were taken April 19 by my across-the-street neighbor who had just discovered the Fox and her kits under the shed in his backyard!

Talk about fantastic photos!

Aren't they just So Cute??

I wonder if we won't be hearing a lot of Spring Noise next year? In the meantime, you must know that people aren't the only ones appreciative of a little shade. :-)

Your shadiness... SG

Happy three years, and many more, Shady.

Those kits are so cute, especially the shot of the mom and her baby.

Congrats on three years of blogging! I love these pics of the mama fox and her babies. I just read a book by Alexander McCall Smith where they call the neighbourhood fox, "Brother Fox". They are so handsome. :)

I loved seeing the pictures of the fox, especially the one with the baby's. Just 10 minutes before I went on your site, my husband called me to look out in my garden as a beautiful red fox was walking across the garden. I love seeing the wildlife we have here in our mountains.

Hey Shady Lady! Three years really flies by doesn't it? Congrats on your milestone.

Those Fox photos are fantastic. I know how difficult it is to capture wildlife.

Looking forward to many more great posts.

Congratulations on your blogaversary. Your fox photos are fantastic. (My fox is too shy and runs past the garden too fast). I had to share this post with the girl.
She says: you are so lucky you got to see this! I love foxes so much. The fox cubs are the cutest things ever (besides Cream the rabbit)!

Hi Larry, Thanks for visiting - even though I still don't have an ABC post up, yet! :-)

Hi Northern, Thanks. You keep it up, too. :-)

Noelle, Are you sure you haven't been blogging longer?? ;-)

Garden Ms. S - Which book is it that you read? I love the series #1 Ladies' Detective Agency!

Thanks, Rebecca! I agree about the kits. Sure wish I'd have seen them!! :-)

Get up, Grace! ;-) You're right about time whizzing by. Are you enjoying your Spring? I'm just thinking and planning these days (when it's not raining). ha.

MBT, Thanks for your visit. Yours is one of the first blogs I ever followed. I think very highly of all the things you write about. :-)

Hi Bobbi, Do you see foxes? I so wish I'd have seen these little fellows!!

Hi Jo, Thank you so much for the special post. We work within a mutual admiration society! ;-)

Hi Kate, High praise. Thanks!! :-)

Hi Val! What fun! I love it, too. I wonder if these foxes will help keep the chipmunk population under control??

Thanks, Rosemary. I'm sorry I haven't been to visit (anyone) lately. Spring is here... ;-)

Hi Carolyn, Thank you for your visit and comments. I believe you've been blogging longer than I... haven't you??

MMD and daughter, Thanks for all the comments. If I thought I could capture them for a moment, I'd ask you to come right over!!
You have to know you're very fortunate to have Cream the Rabbit! Esp. since you're gardeners!! :-)

Hi Jim, Thanks for your visit and comments. I'm about ready to plant my ligularia. Do you know which variety they are?

Happiest blogaversary dear Shady! Three years is a long time in blog years. All the fox photos are wonderful and how lucky to see one near your house. Have a really great day. gail

That is an amazing photo of the kits! They are so adorable. I haven't seen a fox around here in several years; I hope the coyotes haven't chased them off. Congratulations on your blogaversary! Time certainly does fly when it comes to blogging.

Many congratulations on three years blogging, Shady! A great achievement, well done :)

You did exceptionally well to capture the fox with one hand! I have tried using the camera while on the 'phone, rather than miss something important (and doesn't it always happen that way) and it is sooo difficult!!

Your neighbour's photos are beautiful, the cubs are so sweet :)

Shady Gardener said...

Hi Gail, 3 years - you're right. I even remember when YOU started blogging! ;-)

Rose, Do you see foxes at all? I'm sure they enjoy the cover provided by the woodlands.

SSB, Thank you for your compliment. I'm so glad you understand my predicament of one-handed photography! ha. The neighbor's foxes were very near the his house!! (Wouldn't you have loved to see them 'in person?' Me, too!)

Kylee Baumle said...

Awwwww! Cute attack!! What wonderful photos of those kits and the adults, too! They're beautiful animals, aren't they?

Shady Gardener said...

Hi Kylee, I am amazed when I see them. It's really fun to be able to enjoy the fauna as well as the flora! :-)

Kathleen said...

Congrats to you Shady Gardener on your THREE year blogging anniversary! That's quite an achievement. We are lucky recipients to be able to view your beautiful garden for that amount of time.
The fox photos are FABULOUS and the perfect accompaniment to your blogaversary post. Did I count six kits?? Is that a normal size litter or larger than normal? I know almost nothing about them. I saw my first one here earlier this spring but have never seen the little ones. It will be fun to watch them grow up.

Love the pictures - especially the last two. Babies are always so cute, with or without fur!

Congratulations on your "third anniversary"! You have quite the following. I've been away from the blog circuit for a while, but I'm back! You'd be so proud - I bought my plants this week and we are re-doing the landscape in the front of the house. I wanted to make some space for some annuals & I'm getting them in the ground!

That last photo is just too cute. They are beautiful animals and you are lucky to have them visit your yard.

Shady Gardener said...

Hi Kathleen, thanks for your enthusiastic comments! Yes, there were six and I'm going to be watching for them!! :-)

Carol, baby "anythings" are cute. My little best girl friend (we were four) and I found a nest of baby mice (on the farm) and we played house with them. They were cute! lol.

Jamie, I would Love to see the babies "in person," wouldn't you??

Hi Sweet bay, Yep. My neighbor got wonderful photos... thanks for your kind remarks. :-)

Hi Andrea, I couldn't "click" and visit just now. Wonder why? I AM proud of you, though! ;-)

Chad and Brandy, Come to think of it, these photos look like some YOU would have taken! How are you??
