In Honor of Sidney

Sidney entered our lives in August, 1994.

He'd been caught by a local hairdresser as she drove to work.
Cute little rascal. He needed a home.
And we gave him one.

(photo taken November 1994)

He was a 3-month old (approx.) lap-puppy
that grew to be a hard-to-fit-on-the-lap dog.
We loved him anyway.

He was an independent-minded, fun companion.
He learned to nip the heads off dandelions at an early age
by watching me do the same thing (with my hands). ha.

Sixteen years is a nice, long relationship.

Missing you, Sid.

What a sweet little face. I'm sure he loved his years with you too. Pets get to be like members of the family and it's hard to lose one. I'm sending you a hug :)

I'm so sorry for your recent loss. What an absolutely adorable little pup. They pitter patter their way into our hearts on 4 paws, and stay with us forever. It's so sad that they don't live longer than they do. Rest in Peace, little Sidney.

Thanks, all. Being away from home for the past two weeks has been good. It will be sad to return home tomorrow, but I'll be making a special stone to place on his grave at the edge of Mr. Shady's prairie. :-)
