so happy I found your blog
Now how do you keep squirrels from eating everything? I have tried that baffle...
We got a bit of snow here and at our place in Galena....
I see you that you have multiple blogs...as I do...gotta go check them out...

Hi Suz, Thanks for your visit and comment! :-) So far, the squirrels haven't worked very hard at getting to the food. But they will...

I'm hoping the little baffle helps. I have my eye on another, if need be. ;-)

How awesome...I'm so jealous of all your birds! I'm just starting to figure out what the birds in our garden are. :-)

It takes a little time and effort, Scott. But WHAT rewards! :-)

Nice shots.
It's too cold for me to go out and take pics. Hubby feeds them everyday...we really enjoy them.

Shady, this just goes to show that when you give [as in birdseed and water] you end up getting a blessing in return. I so wish we had red cardinals here in the Pacific Northwest. They're such gorgeous birds. And I love the goldfinches. Keep warm!

Hi Patsi! I've missed you! I'm taking photos from inside the house, mostly. However, it does sound like the weather may be giving us some REAL Wintery mix, soon!!

H Grace, I'm glad to see you here, too. :-) Blessings for sure - and you would LOVE the cardinals!!

I love those red Cardinals!
We get a lot of Blue Jays and they scare a lot of the other birds away.
Do you make your own suet or buy it?

Those bird feeders are the perfect gift! You have so many colorful birds visiting you. I've seen hardly any other than the hummingbirds, since the snow started.

Hi Rosey, I actually did make my own suet for a couple of years. You can purchase lard in the grocery stores (1 lb. packages). Melt it and add the bird seed.

Catherine, Ah... and we're finally having Winter weather! :-)

I also have a heated birdbath and the birds love it. It's wonderful to be able to see more wildlife in the winter now that there's fresh, unfrozen water available. Those cute little seed balls are such a perfect gift!

Is yours as close to the window as mine? It's fun watching them use the birdbath. :-) Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Shady,
You sure got awesome gifts, and what fun watching the birds on them! I love how many cardinals you have!

Larry bought a heated bird bath a month or so ago. It's where we can see it if we stand at the back window in the bedroom we turned into a dining room. I keep forgetting to look, though. All we've seen at the feeders this year are sparrows and squirrels. I've seen an occasional dove around, too, but not the assortment of birds we had last year.

Happy New Year!

Hi Sue, Do you have snow? It seemed as long as we went without it, we saw very few birds. But immediately when the snow came, the birds did also.

You should enjoy your birdbath. Mine was visited by a squirrel yesterday! ;-)

New Year's blessings to you.

Indeed. A birding bonanza. Since the snow finally the birds are showing up in flocks... :)
