Buzzing About With the 'Hummers!'
We get Ruby-throated hummingbirds in Iowa.
We get Ruby-throated hummingbirds in Iowa.
There are two little ones at the right-hand feeder.
This first one shows us that our "Guard Bird" has gone off-duty. Finally!
I just didn't have the heart to try to download another video! So I put it on Youtube.
Perhaps I can add a link here. This video isn't better quality, but you'll see a LOT of hummingbirds and a quick close-up or two! ;-)

Enjoyed the video. I'm jealous, The annas hummingbirds in my area have already migrated. Or at least I think they have, I have not seen them for 2 weeks. Thank you for sharing, Hummingbirds are remarkable birds.
All the best, BOB
Obviously they're getting ready to migrate, as there aren't usually this many of them. They are remarkable, and it's a great show!
Your hummingbirds are getting along better than the ones down in GA! We have our 'watch bird' and he likes to chase the others clear out of the yard first. The goldfinches have invaded, the mockingbirds have left, the doves mind their own business and the squirrels are trying to figure out where their feeders are!

I've had a "guard bird" until this week. I think they're all getting ready to go visit you! :-)
Thanks for stopping by. Come again!!
Wow, I love that you caught two on film.. I haven't seen one here in GA for quite some time..
I hope "ya'll" enjoy my newest post (above!). It was a lot of fun.
I hadn't ever seen one in person before...then in CO this weekend, we saw 2 at the botanic garden!! I'll post pics over the next couple of weeks.
