I Found Another 'Fun-Guy' in the backyard!

Actually, there were two of them.
This was taken due to a comment by Deb at Garden Author.
She wondered if I didn't have any 'turkey tail' fungus.
Yep. I do. :-) follow the above link for great information!

But this one "takes the cake!"
(Maybe he ate it? ha.)
I don't know who this is...
do you? ;-)

Would you have any "fun-guy" of your own to share?
LOL

I never knew what that top fun-guy was called before and it certainly does look like a turkey tail :)
Love those little bottles with stoppers too.
Lack of rain here means lack of fun-guys so no pictures from me.

I like those funky white ones. They kind of remind me of bowling pins. Have I got fungi? I've got huge ones on my continuously rotting Boxelders. None in the lawn right now, though.

Love the tails and milk bottles. Awesome fungi! I've since found new ones at my Mom's - a reward for mowing her lawn... she was very amused as I set up a fungi photo shoot, while Lucy exhibited her usual bored, blasé attitude. ~ Deb

flydragon, I'm going to put a link to an informative post about the turkey tail fungus. Pretty interesting! (Aptly named!) I'm going to see if I can find out what those others are! ;-)

MMD, This has been an amazing year for the fungi! I've had so many of those stinkhorns. It's hard to believe I'd never seen them before! ha.

Deb, That was a cute post of Lucy. :-)

Great Fungi fun. The top one is actually pretty--the bottom ones look like deformed bowling pins.

I've seen some random fungi off and on this summer and probably have a couple in my lawn right now. The weekly mowing gobbles them up but with any good rain they pop right back out.

I posted a slide show of several I found recently when visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Those bowling pin mushrooms are very unique.

rosemary, I've seen more varieties this summer! We've had an excellent growing season here this year. :-) Thanks for visiting!

aiyana, I think the turkey tails are pretty, too. I've often called them shelf fungus, but I was wrong. I have no idea what these bottom little fellows are, but I'm going to research it tonight! :-)

Meems I'm glad you could visit. This has been a great year for fungi! I want to see your slide show. lol.

Shady, these are definitely fun! We've not had (m)any pop up in back this year, and that's rather odd considering we usually get at least a bunch of toadstools and puffballs. Maybe we should look again now since all that rain moved through last night!

IVG, I just left a request for help at UBC Botanical Garden & Center for help in id-ing the "bowling pins." :-)

I really like the top "fun-guy"...what great colors. In fact, I think the lighter shade is the exact color of my living room wall!!!! No wonder I like it.

Great photos!
