Here is one of my favorite photos from this past Spring (April 17). I know these items are NOT blooming now, but I wanted to share them anyway. :-)
Left foreground: Dicentra 'Gold Heart',
Right foreground: Mertensia virginica (Virginia Bluebells),
Center: Pulmonaria, 'Milky Way',
Back: leaves of Erythronium albinum (Dog Toothed Lily or Trout Lily)
Way Back: little white blossoms - Claytonia virginica (Spring Beauty)
Something to be looking forward to again in 2011.

I love the golden leaves Dicentra Gold Heart. What a beautiful contrast with the pink blooms. Pulmonaria is always a winner in the Spring garden.
Gold heart is nice with the mix.

Some native wildflowers...my favorites. I recall several acres of bluebells along a favorite troutstream till a herd of cows moved in....they like them too. :)

Patsi, This was Gold Heart's first Spring here. It was planted during 2009. Made me very happy!

My bleeding hearts didn't die back until early October this year. Usually, it's August or so.
Hi Sue, That's amazing about your Bleeding Hearts! I had one that lasted pretty long... but the others are usually gone by August. Hmmm.
