Interesting Photos Taken August 2007

I need to do some research, but isn't this a grand photo?
Someone at UBC thought it could be Thelephora terrestris.
What do you think?

A cute little fellow. Again his name I know not...

This next little fellow and I have been introduced. We met earlier in the garden.
He is a Stinkhorn (Lysurus mokusin) You can probably guess why.
I found three of these this past Summer. Don't know as I'd ever seen one before!
My first posting shows a lurking fly.

I use a link to UBC Botanical Gardens for information about fungi. They are helpful. There's also a link on the sidebar. I will see if someone there can help me with my "unknowns." Perhaps you could help?? I'd be ever so grateful.

SG: I can't see your photos! Bummer! Thanks for visiting over at Ledge and Gardens and you have inspired me to go out and plant the last of those bulbs even though it is 26 F with a mega wind chill factor! Thanks!

Good for you! Keep track of their location and take a photo for me next Spring! ;-) I couldn't find more bulbs yesterday, so I take that as an end to the planting season in my yard.

Your pictures are not showing up for some reason, but we had ice here as well! I am glad it is over but I think the ice may be around for awhile.

Well... I just ended up re-uploading the pictures, 'cuz when I looked at my blog, they weren't there for me either! Hopefully that does it!

Hey Shady,

Maybe it's late and I need some sleep but are you sure that stinkhorn isn't a garden gnome? It looks like a garden gnome with a little pointy hat. ;)

It would be much more fun to think that! Maybe I'd better be watching a little more closely! ;-)
