Green Thumb Sunday

This is for Denny and Marty!

I just thought you might like to see what your "Christmas Cactus" is doing right now! Note the buds in the second photo! (I'm sure you're having a wonderful time! Can you bring a plant back from Hawaii?) ;-)
Click on the photos to enlarge them somewhat.

Meanwhile, back in Iowa... we're enjoying cold, windy days. Looking forward to a bit of sunshine tomorrow and Tuesday! :-)

Beautiful Cactus SG. Don't you hope it continues to bloom until Christmas.?.

I'm seeing these in all the big box stores now. They seem to bloom in neon colors!

Hi Shady,
We may just have to spring for a new Christmas cactus again, though where we'd put it indoors is anyone's guess, given the paucity of truly sunny windows. This one is gorgeous, and kudos to you to keeping them so happy!

Fernymoss got the last of our fall bulbs in today (we've been working on this for the last few weeks), so now we just need to do some more clean up and fall seed planting, then we can let the garden rest for the winter. If you haven't already planted those seeds I gave you when you were here this August, now would be a good time to go spreading them around where you want them! They're unlikely to want to come up with the weather we've been having lately!

Wow, the verification word actually is real this time, 'commune,' how weird is that? :-)

Hi there...I am behind on all my comments...I played too much yesterday...well all weekend! Oh to be able to have flowers indoors! This is a plant that has always intrigued me! It trails all over with very unusual 'leaves'/branching!~

My fuschia xmas cactus thrives while my lovely creamy white one languishes. Mine live outside year-round (Zone 9 USA). Your posts reminds me to toss in a handful of bone meal to encourage mine to time their blooms for xmas.

"Christmas Cactus Central" ~ it seems even your "guests" oblige with November displays - nice job! /Deb

Shady ~ me again! Forgot to mention your new header - nice fall shot, with the toadies! Do I detect a glimpse of red Patient Lucy in bloom?

Lisa, Yes! I do! :-) Thanks for stopping by.

Kylee, Neon, brights and pastels. So easy!

IVG, I'm fortunate that this house has plenty of windows/light! Glad your bulbs are all in. That is quite the job, in itself! BTW: Commune is a good word~ we all do this when we're outdoors and when we're blogging, right? ;-) And I planted your seeds today!!!

Gail, I still think you should purchase one of those little glass-walled plant houses. Then, perhaps you could have ONE or two plants indoors! ;-)

Weeping Sore, I cannot explain plants at all. But, I think these fellows have their own time tables. :-)

Deb, My nice friends leave me easy plants to care for. :-) Thanks for the comment on the header photo. Yes... a little red "patient" lucy. :-)
