Bird Activity

You'll have to "click" on the photos for more detail!

The self-appointed "Guard Bird" (Ruby Throated Hummingbird) watches and waits...American Goldfinches stop by, and then...
a Baltimore Oriole declares this to be his favorite "Watering Hole!"

I wish I could get the finches to come to my hummingbird feeder. The Orioles ate grape jelly all summer that I put out, but they must have moved on because I have not seen one in about a month.

Nice photos!

Iowa gardening,
Our neighbors had a nest in a front yard tree. I saw three babies leave the nest (!). I suspect we've been seeing the whole family a lot lately.

An Oriole nest and family, that is. The goldfinches have been "running rampant" (to my great happiness) lately!
